We're enjoying the sunshine here in Peoria today, + we're happy to welcome Andrea to the BUSHBABY journal!
Hi Andrea, let's begin with where you were born + raised.
I was born and raised in Peoria, growing up in Peoria Heights. It’s a close community with a lot of school pride. I have one younger brother and my Dad, who I am very close to. My Mom passed away four years ago this month and I miss her every day.
Aw, that must be so hard.
Can you tell us about your schooling and University years?
I went to Bradley University and graduated with a degree in Business Management. While at Bradley, I started working part time at Caterpillar and have been there ever since. I currently work in Supply Chain where I help forecast and guide decisions for component parts that are used to make tractors. I’m lucky to say I really enjoy my job!
Share some words about your hubby.
I met Matt while working at a restaurant called French Toast in Peoria Heights about 13 years ago. He was a server and I was busgirl. We made a great team, actually he did all the work… ;). We went on our first date, attended Bradley University together, and have been a couple ever since! We will be married 8 years in June. He is definitely my partner in crime as we tackle our day to day life. We enjoy binging on Netflix, shopping at Target, and going on dates to Biaggi’s to get a gluten free meal. He also supports my Barnes and Noble addiction as I am a huge book nerd.
Oh, I love that you are a reader!
How would you describe your girls?
My oldest is Ellie and she turned seven in December. She is finishing up first grade and is very excited to grow up! Sophie is five and is anxious to join her sister at primary school next year when she starts Kindergarten. They are both very sweet, smart, and creative but best of all they are really best friends. Matt and I count our blessings daily as we watch them grow. Ellie is artistic and loves to read. Sophie is shy but into sports and loves anything her big sis does.
Does your family have any exciting summer plans?
Our plans for the summer include art class, swimming, bike rides, reading, friends and ice cream! We are currently planning a trip to Gulf Shores, AL for the end of summer. Ellie and Sophie make every day a party and are always coming up with ways to make their own fun!
What are some summer must-haves for your active little girls?
We will be upgrading the girls’ bikes this summer as they have grown out of them. I have a new pair of Keen sandals ready for both girls, which they love since they are light weight but protective enough for active play. The girls are loving Tea Collection dresses since they are comfy and adorable. Lastly, Honest Company sunscreen is a must!
Oh, Andrea, your girls are just darling! Thanks for sharing a peek into your world. I love imagining those 2 little girls laughing together through all those summer adventures!
Enjoy your summer with your sweet family!
