Get to know a Central IL mama: Meet BRIDGET!

Today we're excited to welcome Bridget, a lovely mama from the Peoria area. It's such a gift to get a peek into another mama's life!

So Bridget, where were you born? Were you raised here in Peoria?

I was born in Kewanee, IL and raised on a farm in Toulon, Illinois.

What about your university years?

I started out on a Student Government Scholarship to Black Hawk East (local community college) and transferred to U of I Champaign Urbana and majored in elementary education. I transitioned from education to being a mom at home with our daughter and it's the BEST job!

Tell us about your family!

I met my husband as a freshman in high school and our first date was to the Sweetheart dance. We moved to Chillicothe 15 years ago and will be married 14 years in July.
We have been blessed with our daughter Nora and she is 19 months old. She LOVES to be on the go! Her furry older brother is almost 7 years old. He's our 2nd Doberman and is a wonderful dog to have. Nora is IN LOVE with him. Puppies are one of her favorites.

Any special Valentine tradition that you enjoyed with your family?

We do small gifts for our daughter and dog and try to find something local to do to spend time together. We went to the CAT Museum and Nora got to explore and see what her daddy designs all day.

Speaking of local, what is a favorite spot in Peoria to spend time with your family?

We love going to the zoo and I highly recommend a zoo pass. If you travel around the US it gets you into several zoos and aquariums for free or at a discounted rate.

Since you’re a regular shopper at BUSHBABY, what is something you would want others to look at next time they are in?

Checkout the Kleen Kanteen insulated water bottles next time at BushBaby and we love the Honest Company line. Our daughter LOVES the bubble bath.

Any special plans for you + your family this spring/summer?

We have been going to the German Fest in Milwaukee with family and friends since we've been married and introduced our daughter to it at 2.5 weeks old. It's a summer tradition to go for a long weekend. We have some other trips planned but this is a "local" favorite of ours because there is so much to do.

Bridget, your family's adventures sound so fun! Thanks for sharing tips + ideas that other families can be inspired by.
