Get to know an Eastern Mama: Meet Andrea!

Today we are pleased to interview a mama that has been a friend of Bethany's for years. Welcome Andrea + her sweet family to the Bushbunch!

Andrea, where were you born + raised?

I was born and raised in Manistique, Michigan. It's a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on the shore of Lake Michigan. I grew up on a small farm with animals and lots of strawberries.

Tell us about your college years + the career you have chosen?

I attended Goshen College and roomed with Bushbaby founder, Bethany Ropp Fosdyck, for 2 years. I majored in accounting and started working with Ernst & Young straight out of college. I have been with EY for 13 years and worked in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Munich, Germany and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Share with us a bit about your hubby Justin + your kiddos?

Justin was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario with short detours in France. We met and fell in love while students at Goshen. Justin ran track and cross country in college and I played soccer. We noticed each other in the training room and the rest is history. We got married in 2002 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and moved to Philly in 2003.
Liam is 6 and was born in Munich, Germany. Alyse is 3 and was born here in PA. Liam loves being active and currently enjoys gymnastics, soccer and running. Alyse is very outgoing and loves meeting new people. She'll talk to anyone, anywhere, including in line at the pharmacy. We also have a standard poodle, Remy, who is just over a year old.

With the summer upon us, what are some things you are looking forward to with the kids?

Liam is really looking forward to trail running with Justin. We enjoy hiking together as a family and anything outdoors. We try to go camping a few weekends every summer. The kids would also like to make some trips to the Jersey shore this year as well. We will also plan to make one trip home to the UP to enjoy waterskiing, hiking, biking, fishing and anything else we can do outside.

Living out East, share with us your favorite places to take the kids.

There are several nice parks nearby. We enjoy Evansburg State Park, Peace Valley Park, the Perkiomen Trail, Lake Nockamixon and camping at French Creek State Park, Ricketts Glen State Park and in the Finger Lakes Region in NY.

Sounds like you + your family manage to make the most of your home in Pennsylvania, Andrea! Thanks for sharing about your adventures!
